Green Veterans’ Home in Bay Minette on Friday, June 26th at 9:00 am with a program and reception. The event will be held at the William F.     VA EXPANDS DISABILITY BENEFITS FOR AIR FORCE PERSONNEL EXPOSED TO CONTAMINATED C-123 AIRCRAFT
    Jun 18, 2015  -  WASHINGTON – The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) today published a new regulation that expands eligibility for some benefits for a select group of Air Force Veterans and Air Force Reserve personnel who were exposed to the herbicide Agent Orange through regular and repeated contact with contaminated C-123 aircraft that had been used in Vietnam as part of Operation Ranch Hand (ORH).
    SUPERMARKET OF VETERANS BENEFITS COMES TO MONTGOMERY
    Jun 15, 2015  -  The Alabama Department of Veterans Affairs (ADVA) is pleased to announce the "Supermarket of Veterans Benefits" to be held on Wednesday, June 24th from 9:00am until 2:00pm. The event will be held at the Cramton Bowl Multiplex, 1022 Madison Avenue, Montgomery, AL and Mayor Todd Strange will participate.
    PROPOSED BUDGET CUTS TO CAUSE CLOSURES AT COUNTY VETERANS SERVICE OFFICES
    May 20, 2015  -  New budget cuts proposed by the Alabama Legislature will have a significant impact on the services provided by the Alabama Department of Veterans Affairs (ADVA). The General Fund budget currently before the Legislature will reduce the ADVA budget by over nine percent. This action will lead to the closure of Veterans Service Offices (VSO) in Lamar, Pickens, and Greene Counties.
